Punta Mita & the entire Bay of Banderas / Riviera North Shore is safe. Our unique bay topography and the Sierra Madre mountains to our south protected Punta Mita from a possible hurricane, we are blessed. The Sierra Madre mountains that reach down to the most southern part of the Bay of Bandera also reach out into the Pacific Ocean farther than the northern point of Punta Mita, therefore, thankfully giving us protection from storms coming up from the south. News that this was THE strongest and most powerful Hurricane ever recorded in our region and potentially anywhere made us all pay close attention. The authorities locally and state wide both in Jalisco (our neighboring state) and our state of Nayarit were outstanding, with information, alerts, and later evacuation instructions for hotels, condominiums and all living along our coastal region and in Hurricane Patricia’s potential path. Congratulations to the authorities who all acted professionally and swiftly to ensure that we were all safe and secure. Thankfully, all of the emergency crews from Guadalajara (extra police, firemen, fire trucks, CFE and more) on high alert which rolled into town were not needed. The response of the Government and related authorities was outstanding.

As it has happened many a times in recent history Hurricane Patricia made landfall several hours South of the Bay of Banderas, just north of Manzanillo and headed inland. While we had some rain and very light winds, thanks to the topography protecting us along our southern shores all is well. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those in the Hurricane’s path and to whom suffered it’s devastating power.

A well designed and elegant courtyard welcomes you and the indoor/outdoor experience continues throughout with spacious covered and uncovered terrace areas, allowing for shaded and unshaded sitting and lounging areas as well as a private plunge pool. Guests are just a 5-minute walk to the Residents' Beach Club, which is only accessible by members and guests of Punta Mita. Near the 4th fairway of the Jack Nicklaus Signature Pacifico Golf course, where you can see the famous 'Tail of the Whale' island green, Villa Tortugas embodies Punta Mita's open-air lifestyle. Crafted as a single level, three bedroom, three bath villa, it features Pacific Ocean views and a living/dining room that opens onto an expansive terrace with outdoor dining and your own plunge pool. Guests are just a 5 minute walk to the Residents' Beach Club, which is only accessible by members and guests of Punta Mita. Villa Tortugas is in-between Four Seasons Resort and the St. Regis, two of the finest spots to enjoy lunch or dinner.

Professionally decorated the villa features a master suite with a large King bed, a large flat screen TV, walk-in closet and large bath with outdoor shower. The second bedroom opens up to the main terrace, and also features a walk-in closet and private bath and flat screen TV. The third bedroom has a Queen bed and direct access to the third bathroom. A fully equipped kitchen with granite counters and stainless steel appliances has all you need for cooking a gourmet meal or having a chef come in. There is a flat screen TV on the dining room wall, which can be moved and viewed from the living room, dining room and even the terrace. Guests staying in luxurious villa are welcomed by a soothing fountain in the entryway and appreciate the beautiful landscaping.
